POLE TO POLE 2000 / THE TEAM
In order to bring his project to a successful conclusion, Martyn Williams took care to surround himself with a team of young travellers coming from all coners of the globe. In addition to being in top physical condition, they are all in love with outdoor life and extreme expeditions. Whether it be guiding river descents on the Zambesi, like for example the South African guide Fogg Devlin, or accomplishing difficult ascents as was the case for Mercedes Rosauer (a celebrated Argentinean triathlete) when she launched an assault on the terrifying Aconcagua (Argentina).
Additionally, nearly all these young people have participated, in one way or another, in educational or humanitarian projects in various parts of the world. The team is made up of eight people:
a Canadian : Dylan Spencer (outdoor instructor)
a Korean : Jay W. Choi (student)
a South African : Devlin Fogg (guide)
two Americans : Jessica Casas (biology student) & Heidi Hausman (humanitarian aid in Africa) an Argentinean : Mercedes Rosauer (triathlete)
a Japanese : Naoki Ishikawa (mountaineer)
a Frenchman : Renaud Richard (consultant)
