Stove and cooking pot.
This may seem ridiculous or even superfluous, but the M.S.R.
stove that the expedition is going to take with them is one of
the key pieces of the whole equipment. In fact, losing this utensil
would mean a very short survival time; the human body cannot function
for any length of time without food or drink in temperatures below
-35°C. The cooking pot, supplied by Kariboe (Leuven), is extremely
light and has a double layer enabling it to capture the maximum
amount of heat from the stove. The outer part of the pan is a
single layer in which snow has already been packed so that it
begins to melt, thus allowing a saving on energy and therefore
on weight.
