At the end of the year, Belgians Dixie Dansercoer, Julie Brown and Rudy Van Snick plan to clim mount Vinson (4879m) before attempting on foot the return trek Vinson - Patriot Hills and explore the unclimbed peaks in the Ellsworth chain. They bid to claim a number of firsts along the way.

They want to celebrate the millenium in an entirely diffrent manner and make the public at large aware of the importance of protection the environment in the Antarctic.
