Malaysia's Antarctica Expedition

To perpetuate the slogan "Malaysia Boleh" (" Malaysia can do it"), two Malaysians - Dr. M Kamaruddin Md Isa and Encik Suhardi Bin Alias - are attempting to make a long crossing of Antarctica.

They are aiming to make the trek between Blue One and Scott Base in 120 days, using the usual techniques of skis and traction sails.

This expedition was already mooted last year, but the project was unable to go ahead. At the time, there was a woman included in the team. This year, there are just the two men and they are due to leave at the beginning of September for Blue One but thus far, nothing has been published on their website and no follow-up has been mentioned...
