Australian Rob Pocarno is attempting to make a solo,
unsupported trek from Beckner Island
(on the edge of the Weddell Sea ) to the South Pole,
a distance of approximately 1300 km.
This expedition hopes to attract public attention to the problem of depression that currently affects more
than one and a half million Australians which,
according to Porcaro, could become the leading
cause of death in the world between now and 2020.
