Teamn2i Antarctic Expedition (Rupert Lonsden, Rory Sweet, Henry Cookson and
Paul Landry on the route Novolazarevskaya - Pole of Inacessib!ility)

January 7th 2007
Since the start, members of Teamn2i have done 810 km ; they have another 887 km to go.

December 29th 2006
Because they are depending upon the winds, the four guys are not moving quite steadily. On december 20, 21 and 22nd, they stayed in the tent because of the lack of wind and two days later, on Christmas day, they have performed a great 110 km! And then, again no wind thus no mileage. Here is their progression table since the start :

December 13th 2006
On December 11th, after having travelled up the Somoveken glacier ( "It consisted of long steep uphill sections followed by sharp slope's down, they wrote, so traveling up the rolling glacier was pretty soul destroying since all that hard work gaining height is quickly eaten into again by the descents. Added to this there was a distinct incease in wind from the east, not only sending the apparent temperature plumeting but also blowing us and our pulks sideways oour the icy windswept surface - each step was a struggle... "), Teamn2I Expedition arrived on the polar plateau and reached the depot that the Twin Otter had made there at their request a week earlier. Talking about depot, one may wonder why they have made a resupply at this stage, in a place so close to the start point of their trip. Maybe they were only afraid of being obliged to go up the slopes of the glacier with too much weight behind them...)
Anyhow, after 8 days spent on the ice, they have done already 163 km, have reached the altitude of 2 360 m and have another 1 485 km to go!

December 8th 2006
December 3rd : finally they are on the move. In order to avoid potential future critics, they asked some russian technicians from Novolazarevskaya sceintific base to see them to the antarctic shore and departed from the littoral itself.
First day : 16 km done. Two days later, they made a depot (the only one) for the pilots and the future resupply. Now they are negociating the ascent on the antarctic plateau through the glaciers of the Sór Rondane chain.
Total distance behind since December 3rd : 78 km. They have another 1548 to go !

December 3rd, 2006
Expedition finally departed from Cape Town on November 29th and landed on Antarctica some hours later. No update since then.
