" The Earth
given to Mankind "
A
star, the sand. The star could be one of those shiny objects
filling the universe; the sand could be from any planet. But
this sand is the earth's, the spectacle has a meaning because
it is looked at. The importance is not the sand nor the star,
but the invisible and in the middle, mankind looking on, asking
questions in admiration. On the terms of his questioning, he
creates a model of his world, science, in a dual birth never
accomplished. Following his admiration, he installs a new way
of looking at his world, art's rebirth constantly recurring.
Albert
Jacquard
The
film initiates the need for second thoughts about our awareness
of the urgency to preserve nature and it's resources, about
the human conscience, about the re-education of our civilisation
concerning long lasting development.
The
film will be build up around a conversation between Albert Jacquard
and Alain Hubert. And set against the experience of the ongoing
expedition. The film is not only a witness but is also working
as a catalyst of the energies, the thoughts, the questions and
maybe the answers constantly rising in every one of us, or in
any case in those of us who have already looked at this world.
For
the others, it will be, I hope, their first revelation.
