2003 Solo South Pole Expedition
Rob Pocarno

One fine day the Australian Rob Pocarno came up
with the idea of enabling anyone and everyone to surpass
their abilities and take part in large-scale and
exceptional adventures.

His idea is called 'Lasso the Moon' and every year,
major adventures are organised for beginners.

This time, however, Rob will be setting out alone and,
without any outside assistance, is attempting the route
from Berkner Island (on the east of the Ronne
iceshelf) to the South Pole.

This is a trek of some 1300 km. He is undertaking this bet
with himself to make the public at large more aware
of illnesses related to nervous depression, which afflicts
more than a million and a half Australians at all times.
